All Commissioners that earn their doctoral degrees at the Piedmont-Appalachian College of Commissioner Science have prepared a doctoral dissertation as a part of their degree requirements. These dissertations address many different issues in Scouting, and serve as a great resource for current Scouters.
In 2007, Hulic Ratterree (Palmetto Council, York District) located a description of and prepared a bibliography of all of the past papers for his dissertation project. It provides a bibliography of all of the doctoral dissertations that have been prepared by the graduates of the Piedmont-Appalachian College of Commissioner Science, which began in 1984. It contains an abstract of all of the dissertations, serving as a great resource to see if someone has studied a problem that you are having in your Scouting work. Hulic's bibliography is currently updated through June of 2009.
