The Palmetto Council has embarked on a new venture to expand opportunities for units to participate in the exciting and highly popular activities of rock climbing and rappelling. One part of this program is the addition of Climbing merit badge to the summer camp offerings at CBH this year. A second part will be to begin offering council climbing opportunities throughout the year. To do this requires qualified individuals, whether operating a district or council event, or an individual unit activity. So, a third leg of the implementation involves offering training opportunities for adults to become certified Climbing Instructors.
Attached to this announcement in the Forums, you will find a flyer for a certification opportunity being offered by our newly appointed Climbing Committee Chair, Ken Reiter. PLEASE help our units become aware of this great opportunity by distributing this information at your local roundtables and via your email distribution lists. |
